In a new film from an award-winning trilogy director and received critical acclaim in Search of Mozart, In Search of Beethoven & In Search of Haydn, Phil Grabsky brought us music and life stories from one of the world’s favorite composers, Fryderyk Chopin. In an effort to discover new insights about Chopin, his husband and his musical genius, Grabsky traveled the world for four years to record performances by world-class musicians and interview famous historians and music experts. With Daniel Barenboim; Ronald Brautigam ;; Jeremy Siepmann, Nelson Goerner; Kevin Kenner; Janusz Olejniczak; The XVIII Century Orchestra was organized by Frans Brggen; Leif Ove Andsnes; Lars Vogt. Juliet Stevenson tells and RSC actor David Dawson expressed Chopin’s letter.
In this long-awaited documentary, Phil Grabsky’s biography of Haydn’s life is a visual and aural extravaganza, including a dazzling performance by some of the most famous musicians in the world.
Joseph Haydn (1732-1809) was one of the greatest music innovators. Mozart and Beethoven regarded him strongly as an inspiration, but today in the concert hall he may be overshadowed to support his contemporaries.
As Andre’s Schiff points out:
The world must appreciate it more: he is still underestimated by all the great composers.
By talking to some of Haydn’s most lively musical exponents, the film improves balance and explains the master and his work. Phil Grabsky hopes that Haydn will reach a wider audience who will be amazed, entertained and fascinated by Haydn’s intelligence, humanity and creativity that are never satisfied.
Haydn’s life stretched from the end of the Baroque period to Napoleon’s invasion of Vienna, beyond his young friend, Mozart. He is one of the most prolific composers and produces more than 100 symphonies, 64 quartets, 16 operas that still exist, 51 piano sonatas and oratorio of creation and seasons.
His temper that seemed easy and calm embraced life’s difficulties and misery with humor and relaxed irony. Although blessed by an uplifting patron and managing his own orchestra and opera for about 30 years at the Esterhazy Estate, he was exposed to the usual antiques of aristocratic households and the folly of the artistic world. These years have proven to be very productive, inspiring Haydn to write many works to please his patrons and distinguished guests with humorous theater nights, jokes and occasional jokes.
Phil Grabsky follows the same format by presenting biographies and composers’ music chronologically. Through intimate and revealing interviews with experts and detailed extracts from Haydn’s personal memories, the audience gained extraordinary insights, not only in Haydn’s music but also awards from the artist himself. The main focus of this film, like previous films, lies on the performance and interpretation of Haydn’s music, with performances from the world’s greatest musicians and orchestras.
